Thank you for your comments; approbation was not what I expected, or rather feared, when I posted
this image. As for the actual meaning of the Chinese characters and the Tang era seal, I must plead
ignorance since I am illiterate in both oral and written Chinese. I placed the seal there because owners
of scrolls often placed their "chop" on the art. The Chinese characters, as has been mentioned, represents
comments about the scroll.

I am posting one more image which I like because it breaks naturally into fore-, mid- and background.
I have some Kozo paper and I hope eventually to make a lantern with these images.

Thank you again for your kind comments.

Regards,
Dale

Though come to think of it, one can't be illiterate orally.

This one is very nice, too. Perhaps not as exciting as the earlier ones.
I'd love to see the lamp once it's made.

Here is another one folks and which I hope you approve.

I took this several years ago, yet always thought that the clouds would lend themselves very well towards this kind of pseudo Chinese works reminiscent of the 7th century - hey, nothing like keeping up with modern trends is there  ::)

Has anyone else got something they have been doing along these lines?

You never know, get enough of these together and somebody might want to make a book out of them  :D

I give this Best of Show. Mimics conventions of Chinese
paintings and even has a scholar's pavilion. Or as RSL would say
reveals "the hand of man."

Given the photographer, technique, of course, is superb.
