I like the second, although there's something rather odd about the leftmost tree.

Second and third for me - I like the threatening sky and the lingering fog. The first photo needs a bit more room at the top of the frame.

Not sure what is the problem with the left tree.
As for the first you are right and I do have more room but is a pretty bright featureless sky and I'm not sure it fits.

A couple more from the bottom.

It is not the most symmetrical of trees, but I don't see that as a problem with the photograph. What does distract me is a kind of white haze around and behind it. Not sure what is happening there - something to do with the contrast maybe.

That's what I see, too.

Me too, that's probably some sort of St. Elmo's fire in the vegetal world!  ;D

Interesting. It took me some time to see some, I'm not entirely sure why. There is a graduated filter from the top but that's about it. It was raining and there was significant haze in the distance.
Here is a version without the graduated filter, I used a brush instead.

It's still there, so it's obviously not a processing artefact.

Or at least, not an artefact that arises from the use of a graduated filter. There is of course  "processing" that goes on under the hood. Another possibility is that some kind of vapour is actually coming off the tree. That certainly happens with eucalypts in Australia, with the conspicuous consequence of a blue haze in the distance. On reflection, I am pretty sure I have seen a similar "white haze" look around trees against the light in some of my own shots. I will try to find an example when I have access to my main catalogue.
