Canon FD manual-focus primes vs FD zoom lenses?
« on: February 19, 2016, 11:08:08 pm »

Since switching to 35mm (I started with digital) several years ago, I have learned that there are top-notch 35mm camera systems that are VERY affordable!

I ended up choosing Canon FD. I love it. New F-1, T90, and so on... it's great...

I have found that using prime FD lenses seems to make me think a bit better, and also the prime lenses seem a bit sharper...

Is anyone out there shooting FD primes still? Or am I just kidding myself?

I started my journey with digital... couldn't believe how sharp my photos were... was introduced to film... couldn't believe how much sharpness didn't matter.

The image quality of zoom lenses didn't become acceptable until long after FD lenses were discontinued. Therefore I think it's better to stick with primes.
