Vintage photograph exhibit from San Miguel de Allende
« on: January 06, 2016, 06:57:17 pm »

Taken from an online announcement. This is out of the way for anyone not in the Ottawa area, but it jumped out at me because of the location where the photographs were taken. McDonald's Corners is about an hour west of Ottawa in Lanark Township.

For photography and nostalgia buffs

A cool-sounding exhibition is opening this weekend at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald’s Corners. Memories of Mexico 1958 showcases the photographs of Abigail Gossage, who spent a year studying photography at the Escuela Superior de Arte del Instituton Allende in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. Her photos of what was then a sleepy Mexican town (not the busy ex-pat community it is today) offer a glimpse into a long-gone past. The vernissage takes place on Sunday, January 10, from 2pm to 4pm.
