Valley of Fire is a very colorful place with strange and interesting rock formations and those two shots depict that perfectly.

Valley of Fire is strictly sandstone; no igneous rock whatsoever. Along the main road it's all red sandstone, but if you take the road past the visitor center towards White Domes you will also see white, green, yellow blue and purple rock, depending on the minerals enclosed.
