As far the ink, you can still buy ink for the 7600/9600 family and get them maintained, so the 9900 will have supplies for a while yet.

Yes the ink is available for these workhorses but parts availability is drying up. My local dealer, who is great, was unable to help with a repair due to lack of parts support from Epson. They recommended an independent shop on Long Island NY who couldn't help either. Their comment was if they accidentally damaged certain things during the repair they would not have the necessary part to effect a repair. I have been recommending American Inkjet Systems on this Forum is because they were the only company I could find to help me with parts and directions for an at office repair.
