NC-E2 and AA

Hi folks,

The Battery Charger NC-E2 charges the battery of my 1D. Is there any device that could plug into its end and charge AA batteries?

I ask this because I already bought two dedicated AA chargers (I think both are GP) but they died after about 2-3 months of use. Don't know why.
