Adapters for Hasselblad H lenses?
« on: June 01, 2015, 06:46:22 pm »

Hi,
Is it possible to use Hasselblad H lenses with Blackmagic Design or Sony a7s cameras for video?
I cannot find any adapter other than Leica S-Adapter H For Hasselblad Lens.

I know H is a closed system. Good cine lenses start from approx $3000, so it worth to ask one more time before start spending money.

Thanks

But to answer your question, there isn't a third-party adapter that has the ability to stop down the lens, so even if you had a physical adapter, the electronics aren't there.

The Hasselblad V series are easily adapted to EF https://www.fotodioxpro.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=hasselblad+ef

Joe,
Arri Alexa 65 is a great camera, huge sensor 54.12 mm x 25.58 mm active image area (!) and 14 stops dynamic range, and the rest of technical spec looks superb, and ... is only available for rent through the ARRI Rental organization, and probably will not fit my budget. ;D
May be I will reconsider it 10 years later when technology advances will make it an outdated behemoth ;D
Anyway, good to know!

There are Zeiss cine lenses for the Blackmagic Design or Sony a7s cameras, which cost a fraction of Arri 65 mm digital cinema camera...
However I hoped to use my Hasselblad lenses for video, but looks like no way ..

Thanks
