Caterpillar & Egg

Red Spotted Purple caterpillar (1st instar?) & an egg to the same species... Was difficult trying to get them into the same plane of focus. I had been keeping an eye on the caterpillar & noticed the freshly laid egg.

Nice egg! Can you get closer to these, or are they too small?
