I’m sure I’ll get no responses from this but anyway......
I got an error message about replacing the suction fan on my beloved 8300 and I can’t use it. Everything else works perfectly.
I called an independent Epson tech out here who is only barely able to work on Canons to replace the fan . It was coated with ink . That was easy, But I’m still getting the same error, 031 30031 - 2F17. He doesn’t know what else to do and canon won’t give him any support or other parts because it’s discontinued. I’ve already wasted $ 500.00 on it apparently . It’s not going to be worth going in there and replacing boards, especially since neither me or this guy is qualified to do it.
Just checked and the next recommendation is to replace the “main controller board”. You can get a new one for $750.00.
That and the cost of having it done either by me or someone else is a crap shoot for a printer this old. And it could be something else.... there are none on eBay.
Just wondered if anyone has faced or heard of this before I replace the machine.
