moving ipf 8300
« on: November 13, 2011, 08:28:44 pm »

Hi all,
I'm moving to a new place this week and wondering if anyone can share your personal experience do's and don'ts with an 8300. my jaw just hit the floor when I saw that I'm to drain 1.5 liters of ink so I can tip this thing up and move it  down stairs. that's a $900 move in ink and maintenance cartridges - I hate to do it wrong and ruin the printer, but for one flight of stairs on a dolly do I really have to kill that much ink?
can maintenance cartridges be emptied and re-used?
Anything you've found helpful when packing your printer to transfer? this is an across the town move, we'll likely keep it flat out of this house and into a truck, but it's going downstairs in the new place so it has to be tipped (there's no other way to negotiate the corners).
many thanks
Mark
