Leaf Digital Back

I have to fit a digital back to my Bronica. My photographer cousin says to keep off Leaf as one of his friends had a bad experience with it. It seems that Leaf digital backs rend photos with more red in the rgb space which gets progressively worse with age of the back and even the software is unable to correct the rendition. The problem, according to him, got so bad that his friend had to shelve the back. Since he lost touch with his friend he is unable to provide further details on that.

I have not heard of any such complaints. Are any of you aware of this problem? Is this truly a problem with Leaf or any of its older models? I would like to hear from

can´t second that. We are using Leaf backs for many years now, started with a Valeo22, use Aptus 22, Aptus 75S and AptusII10, they have all got their specific graybalance setting (temperature/tint) but keep this color ever since. We usually don´t alter anything in the shooting software but get the lighting done properly instead. Take a look at www.shoots.de - there´s not a single image which is not taken with a Leaf back.

The Aptus12 R is my third Leaf back in a row. Have used Leaf backs for about 9 years and have not seen this "red" problem nor anything like it.

Thanks much for your replies. It is very hearteningto know that this is an isolated incident. The comments on the long years of use and the that on the different models really reassure me about Leaf.
