]: I think that the kind of flexibility you´re looking for is better off with a flexible macro than a widerange zoom: better off with the 35 macro than the 18-135 lens.
Unless you want to have a good wide angle option. For that, it is Pentax the one that offers the best price/performance ratio, with that 12-24 or the equivalent Tokina.
I don´t think that Pentax has a good and reasonable priced primes now, but for the 35 macro [the better choice of both 35´s]. Once the price increased on the 50 1.4, and the überexpensive 55, and the "i kissed a girl and I liked it" 43 [which is moodier than a woman, but less than a Leitz-Leica R].
