Mac screen calibration
« on: July 06, 2010, 07:30:39 pm »

This has probably been covered before but I'm looking for a quick answer. I use both matte and glossy mac screens (mainly the gloss one now) and I'm looking for a monitor calibration kit for both.

My budget right now is pretty low so I'm really looking for suggestions. I've heard a lot of good things about XRites products. Is the X-Rite i1 any good or should I look at Spyder's? Really not sure which one to go for.

Thanks
Chris

Either one will work well for matte or glossy screens.
As luck would have it, we just release a new edition of our newsletter (today) that has an article in it describing the different monitor calibration devices out there, and how to choose:

I use an X-Rite Eye one Display 2 on My iMac and Macbook ( both glossy screens ) and an older matte Gateway. No problems with any of them. Can't speak for the latest Spyder's as I haven't used them for years.
