HP Z3200 / Mac OS-X 10.6 Device profile in colorsync sRGB?
« on: January 17, 2010, 02:28:18 am »

Still trying to track down why my z3200 is printing differently than my B9180...

Looked at the printer in the colorsync utility / devices tab and saw a bunch of stuff in there...  see the screen grab.  The blue button marking the default is set to custom #59 which is an sRGB profile.  I'm not sure why 59 is marked default or if it really should be set to sRGB?  If you are running a z3200 on a mac with OS-X is that what you have?  What's it all do anyhow?

Eric -

Couple of reasons you see a difference, biggest being that the B is 8 inks, the Z is 11. Second is that the geometry (design) of the print head is totally different. An ICC profile for the Z is not usable on the B, and vice-versa.

As far as your question about the sRGB stuff, I'll need to look into that and write here again.
