Interesting info, but nothing from the official European sources in the Netherlands. Probably as we approach Photokina 2010 late September we will be getting more official news, not much earlier, although it's strange that Japan already has produced the press release. Maybe they are planning something for the IPEX 2010 in Birmingham in May, given the specific mention of Pantone coverage?

Read the translated-japanese canon website yesterday. A few observations: the whole press release seems to be talking towards offset/print industry less to photography. Lack of a 17" model. Further "only" evolutionary changes to the x100 series: newer inks/bigger gamut, better printhead carriage mechanics, improved firmware. But no things as an integrated profiling system like the HP's have.
Bottom line: for me no reason to rush out and get a new one to replace my current 5100 but when ever I decide that I need a new printer a canon ipf will be again very high on my shortlist, especially as pricing is as with the x100 series: competative, not to say aggressive.
