Caution capture one problems

Hi all ,
 After a shoot using my 1ds3 yesterday, tethered to my 2ghz G5 and using Capture one 4.5.2  I went to process the files only to find I have a bunch of files with no data behind them . During the shoot all appeared to be fine and we went back through the folders to check the progress of the shoot it was fine then  today  - nothing!  The images are there but the info tells me they are just icons with no data and I can't open the majority of them.

Strangely its not all the files , but a majority, fortunately I set up a new folder for each subject, but one folder was empty.
After running all my ususal data recovery routines ( Tech tool pro , permissions repair) This morning I tried an updated version of capture one that now tells me I shouldn't be running on a Powermac and need an Intel based machine.
 I suspect such was the case with the earlier version and they had only notified in the more recent version. I had suspected by the way capture one was not really compatible with powermacs by the way it was getting buggier and slower ( yet running fine on my intel based laptop) but I hadn't expected quite this level of incompatibility. I could have easily used my laptop had I known about this.
 When using Capture one before i had usually used  Eos utiility for capture and only viewed in Capture one and should have stayed with that procedure - but the convenience of using one programme was irresistible.

So if you are still using a powermac - don't use capture one! Not for tethered shooting anyway.

If anyone has had this issue I would appreciate if you could tell me if you managed to resolve it - and where you found the lost file data -  if at all.

And I just read the thread below regarding OS 10.5.6 problems - seems like I have become a victim of this issue too, good one apple!

Dude that  was a well known problem..
I suggest to upgrade to 4.6.2 ASAP
I lost a LOT of images when that error happens with 4.5
Why are you on 4.5 anyways?

If thats a fact , quite right, I'll try the upgrades.
Thanks but I must have missed all the controversy, don't quite know why , 4.5,2 must have been working for me ok until that point. I thought I was up with the upgrades but missed something somewhere . I must admit I'm not shooting everyday with the 1ds3 tethered so maybe thats why.
I keep now getting messages I shouldn't be running 4.6.2  at all on a Power PC mac and have gone back to Cappture 1 pro 3.7.9 for the time being which is running well, I'm planning a mac up grade in the near future so .
