Damaged: DTP94 Foam Lining

I just unpacked my DTP94 to calibrate and reprofile displays and discovered that I had repacked it poorly after the last use and had dented the foam lining that seals-out extraneous light. In a few spots, its pretty badly dented, so I doubt it will re-expand.  

does anyone have any ideas on how I could repair/replace that liner. Or is it something that I should I worry about? Or should I just run the software in the dark?

You should be able to use a hair drier on LOW about a foot away to warm the foam. Fan the foam with circular movements and don't allow it to get more than about 100 degrees farenheit. Slow and warm. The foam cells should expand to their original size and shape.
 
 Another thing to try is to lay it in a warm sunny location for a few days with the sensor covered. The sun probably won't hurt the sensor but laying a coin over it can't hurt.

 The foam cells just need to have freedom to reexpand and heat will speed the process.

So far, the process is progressing well with only the deepest dent remaining. Given how the rest of it recovered, I'm fairly certain it will be fine with some more time. Thanks so much for the help.
