Stuffit "Error 17537" on CameraToPrint_01-03.zip

Anybody having trouble getting the zip files to unzip?

I've now downloaded the first file 5 times (just 1 file at a time as per the FAQs) and each time I try to unzip it I get a Stuffit Error 17537 stating the file may be corrupt.

Running OS X 10.4.10, Stuffit 11.0.2, Firefox 2.0.0.5

Have also tried using BOMArchiveHelper.app and it hangs at 99%.

Any ideas?

Yes.. my problem is with #3 (07-09). Took 3 hours+ to download, then did not open... get error in file message.

Don't know if this is possible, but:
It is better to limit the number of active downloads such that they can be served at a reasonable speed and without error. Rather than serve too many downloads at very slow speed (data rate) only to have the same files served agein and again due to errors.

Perhaps a rule: if download data rate is less than 100 kb/sec, cancel the download and wait for a better time........?

I had no problem to decompress it. I used BOMArchviveHelper.app. My guess is that your download timed out and your browser thinks that it was finished. You could try with another browser to see what happens. Clearing your browser's cache might help.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.  I tried Safari, iCab, and Camino web browsers, all with similar results.  Clearing the cache did not solve the problem.

I am in Chicago and have Comcast broadband - downloads start at around 274KB/s and then drop after 10-15MB to around 57KB/s.  Each file is taking upwards of 1hr 15min to download.

Tried BOMArchiveHelper.app and Zipeg.app (a free utility) but no luck.

Also ran Disk Utility to check for disk and permission errors.  Restarted after each unsuccessful attempt and ran fsck the repair any errors but still no luck.

I guess I am just going to have to wait a few days (weeks?) until the new car feeling of the Camera To Print offering dies down.

Stuffit is absolutely the biggest piece of crap released in recent years. Yes, I have it too under OS X (you have to have it, you don't always have to us it). For Zip, use OS X. Its faster and more reliable. If someone sends you a true Stuffit file, you're stuck with Stuffit. But for Zip, use the Finder (File menu, Create Archive). Double click to unzip.

OK, I completely removed Stuffit and now it appears as though things are unzipping properly.  I have CameraToPrint_01-03.zip downloading and am using Speed Download 4.1.12 to see if it reports any errors.

I fully second that comment! Stuffit used to be a must-have with System 7/8/9 but today we're better served by the OS tools.

Also stuffit is less common on Windows - a plain ZIP file would be good - my PC is throwing up errors on the first 3 downloads.

Camera to Print video files come, as far as I know,  in plain ZIP format, you should have no problem to unzip them. Are you sure that the files are fully downloaded (no time-out connection)?

Sizes on my Mac are as follows:

Removing Stuffit from my computer fixed the problem.  Not sure why a program that touts itself as being able to open nearly any compressed format had such problems with plain old zip files, but eh, who cares, right?  Problem solved.  I've got some movies to watch!
