I have a M1 iMac and a M4 MacBook Air, both running Sequoia.  I am thinking of updating to Tahoe macOS 26.2.  How is it running on all the usual software, LR, Photoshop, pano software etc for anyone who has updated?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

i recall that there was not much. Some print drivers etc, had to be reinstalled. search on the forum. Not much came up.

As long as you have no needed FireWire devices, you should be OK. Firewire is dust in the Tahoe wind.

I've been running Tahoe Beta for at least six months on my M2 MBP and have had no issues with Capture One and Photoshop. However, only recently has Apple Mail improved reasonably. The app didn't handle spam emails well, I'd mark them as blocked and the app froze for a minute or so. Tahoe 26.3 is much better and I've read that Apple is a month or so away from the Public Release. I have external drives and a Canon Pro-100 printer with USB connectors and use Apple adapters to connect to my MBP and Studio Display and have had no issues but haven't used an old Epson flatbed scanner with Firewire.

The simplest approach is to install a separate instance of MacOS on an external drive—preferably a solid-state device connected to the host computer via a Thunderbolt channel.  The process is straightforward; there are plenty of tutorials online that explain how to do this.

Note: Some updates to a newer version of the operating system may modify the host computer's firmware, which could make the older version of the operating system unbootable.  Therefore, it is advisable to have the newer version on the internal drive and the older one on an external drive.
