DTP70 owner looking for ColorPort utility, preferably 2.05, PC and Mac

Hi,

I am trying use my DTP70 and iSis XL again, and I'd like to locate a fairly recent version of ColorPort, Mac and PC preferably with emphasis on Mac.
I'm trying to profile a lab dyes, and it's resizing the print so my thought is I'll be able to rewrite the XML target definition files directly after measuring the prints.

I'm a mac guy too, but it's been ages since I've tried to run any of these programs natively on a mac, I mostly use windows 7 VMs for that purpose, and they're a hell of a lot easier to deal with in general than keeping around an old 10.5-10.6 ish era mac for just these programs.  YMMV, but I checked the wayback machines and I couldn't find any trace of the download links anywhere...

Best of luck with that. I've got 2.05 here, but it no longer runs on Windows 10.

The DTP70 is a great spectro, but now probably now needs it's own dedicated PC/laptop running an older OS.

Other than that, Argyll may be able to do whatever you want still with it, if you can wade through the documentation and deal with a CLI.

Considering the low cost on eBay, it's the way to go. I have an old and inexpensive MacBook that can even boot into OS9; Kodak Custom Color ICC can still run!

I would like to thank Lessbones. I have dug out an old Thinkpad with Windows XP which I'm using to good effect to print profiling targets.
Does anyone here perchance have Monaco Profiler? I have the dongle and it runs on the Mac, but Xrite have taken down most legacy software links

BTW I have a fully licensed i12 Publish as well. Do you guys think I should use i1Profiler rather than Monaco, and which version is licensed etc?  I also have an i1sis XL

A kind soul sent me the PC version of Monaco, and it runs wonderfully on my old Thinkpad.
I particularly like Gamutworks, to compare profiles.

As far as I remember i1Profiler was better than Monaco for c-print dyes RGB profiling to my taste, but I liked colorlogic (CoPrA, basICColor Print, MYIROtools) the most.

I've just upgraded to Windows 11 and Colorport 2.05 works again, as does Gamutvision.

Kudos to MS for improving legacy compatibility with the latest Windows.

Actually, you can install win 11 ARM on your Mac, and it has superb x86 emulation.
You just purchase a Win 11 key; I think any registration key you purchase can be used for ARM.

I'd give i1Profiler a go, just note they are discontinuing support for the i1Pro 2's 01/2026 so downloading the current version (3.8.6) should still work for the foreseeable future if you don't upgrade, it should just be the new ColorPicker beta features that would stop working (it's time limited) but everything else would remain functional. It would be possible to transfer your license to a new i1Basic Pro 3 (or Pro 3 Plus) with this version if you decided to upgrade later on. The i1Isis XL should also work in i1Profiler.

From what I've heard i1profiler is basically the evolution of monaco profiler's engine, and based on my testing I believe this to be true.  I never got as effortlessly nice grays in RGB with profile maker pro, so it makes sense that X-rite would continue development of the monaco engine instead after the Gretag acquisition.  I use Basiccolor sometimes for specific use cases, but mostly in CMYK or with multicolor profiling, but I personally still default to i1Profiler for the vast majority of profiles I make, and definitely all the RGB ones.

Mostly GretagMacbeth's ProfileMaker Pro, but a bit of Monaco. About 20 years ago, I took two trips to Regensdorf to work on this with them.
