With my backdrop business, I can not have any starburst in the final night print ready image. This, of course, adds a lot of retouching with any images that have bright lights in them. So I have been fooling around with a 1/8 Black Mist filter as a way to add a halation around lights to help cancel out starbursts, however for certain situations I feel the effect is too strong.
I am thinking about getting a Schneider Radiant Black filter, which appears like it a stronger grade would get me close to what a 1/16 Black Mist Filter, which no one really makes. (Tiffen's 1/16 Black Mist is not that great fyi.) They are very expensive, so I'd rather get advise before buying one.
Anyone have any thoughts?
