Airdrop images

I take RAW images on my iPhone 12pro with iOS 18.4.1.  I the use Airdrop to transfer them to my iMac M1 for processing in LR.  They usually transfer as RAW, but sometimes arrive on the iMac as JPEG.  I cannot seem to get them to arrive as RAW. 

Can anyone tell me what to do, please.

I have found that photos which have been edited on the phone transfer as jpegs. Is that perhaps your issue?

Thanks Jeremy.  You are right, though the meaning of edited is more than I thought. I took 3 images one at x1, one at x2 and one where I had selected square before taking the image. The first 2 airdropped as DNG and the third as JPEG.  With the third, when I tapped ... in the photos app, there was no option to revert to original. They were taken on my 12pro with iOS 18.4.1.

I am now older and wiser!

I don't know but I suspect it is true. I think AirDrop is a straightforward file transfer.

I have now done another test, selecting 16x9 before taking the RAW image and it airdrops as a JPEG. It seems that changing from 4x3 to any other ratio before taking a RAW image means it wil airdrop as a JPEG.
