I've tried to find a solution on Adobe's Forum without real success. In both Photoshop 2024 and 2025, if I try to use the Liquify tool or the Camera RAW filter (along with some of my other plugin filters), I receive an error message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." My PS 2025 and 2024 are up-to-date.
No matter what I do, I always get this message. Interestingly, I do not get the message in 2023 or 2022 which I also keep on my computer for exactly these kinds of reasons. I have tried trashing my Preferences as had been suggested (which honestly sucks because of what I need to do to set everything up again). That worked one time for a short while, but then the problem returned after a couple of relaunches of the program. The next time I trashed the preferences, it didn't work. I've tried things like disabling my GPU, but that doesn't work either. I have more than enough memory, SSD drive space, a relatively current GPU (Radeon RX 6750 XL), and my CPU is an AMD 3900x -- not the latest, but more than sufficient. I've wasted so much time on recent jobs working in 2025, saving the file, reopening in 2023 to Liquify, then going back to 2025 if there's a specific tool only that program has.
Any suggestions? This has been ongoing for a couple of months.
