I recently upgraded from CS6 to the latest Photoshop.
Prior to the upgrade, I had been playing with a few filters from the Filter Gallery, one in particular, Ocean Ripple.
With the latest version, I tried to replicate one of the filter effects (combination of filters/settings) I developed in CS6 however, when I now apply the Ocean Ripple filter, the resultant image gets cropped (both the right and bottom are cropped considerably) and the image is resized to the same dimensions it was prior to this filter. As far as I can see, this does not happen with any other filter and makes no logical sense to me as to why this occurs. And it certainly did not occur in CS6. If I apply this filter multiple times, each result is cropped again and resized to the preceding dimensions.
To add, while I was playing around with the filters, a screen came up that I was not expecting and which I am uncertain if I inadvertently hit a button that caused it, but as I was in the thick of replicating, I cancelled the screen (I believe I only cancelled but can not be certain). As it has been a few days and I did not pay particular attention, I can not say what screen it was. Thinking this unexpected screen may have been the cause of the mentioned crop issue where I unknowingly hit a button that I should not have, I have tried a Preferences Re-set to put everything back to default, but this has not solved the issue.
I am hoping that this is not the way of the new PS version, and am also hoping someone can advise how to correct this issue or at least try this filter on an image and confirm it does not result in a cropped image. At least I will know then that this is/is not version specific.
