Since then, Steidl has honoured him with a book, and the photographer doesn’t appear to have lost very much.
Time changes many things, one of them being my opinion on this matter. I now feel Fuji should have stuck behind him and not dumped him because of adverse criticism. It might be a mistake to react too quickly in such cases; weathering the teacup storm could have been a better way to go. Perhaps no public reaction at all might have been best: you can’t please all of the people all of the time.
