Canon Pro-4100 driver color management problem

I have recently acquired Pro-4100 because of canon's stackable rebates (my iPF-8300 had died sometime ago).

My initial prints were from Canon print&layout software and turned out great. Then I started using Lightroom and the prints were horrible. After some testing it looks like that even if driver color management is set to off in print window, it applies the profiling anyway. If I turn off color management in Lightroom (and in Capture One and Photoshop), prints are great. However using application color management, colors are shifted so much that I can only conclude that driver is apply color management even when the setting is off.

Another possibility is that my profiles are really messed up but I am using canon supplied standard paper profiles (e.g. 240gsm glossy) and besides any custom profiles work fine from canon's print app.

Anyone has across this kind of problem before? I am using Windows 11.

Where do you set the color management off? Can you show it? It must be done in two places: in the printer driver window and in the application window.

Start from scratch in LR and create a new user Print Template with every possible setting (for print driver and within LR's module) and try again. When printing with an Epson, perhaps with Canon, always have the driver itself set for Presets: Default Settings, NOT one you created and can use in Photoshop! ALL settings are stored in a template in LR, they all have to be correct meaning everything you can configure in the print driver outside a saved preset there:

I think I read a while ago that this should be set off from the Windows or Mac Control panel to have it globally applied to all applications. If you get there from Photoshop's print dialogue, it may be only applied to Photoshop. Apparently, the printer driver can have different settings per application: color correction set to off for Photoshop while being on for Lightroom. I am no expert on this by any means just repeating what I have learned from Internet.

Your settings seem ok.

Investigate the Canon icc profile.
Softproof with the Canon profile and compare to your print. Is the soft proof close to the bad print?

Can I ask what prompted you to switch from CPPL to Lightroom? I'm just curious, because like you, I took advantage of the stackable rebates and have been slightly annoyed at how finicky CPPL is. While it seems pretty robust in its capabilities, it's not very intuitive. At least to my brain. Slot sizes, images sizing, and printable areas - the layout management gets difficult. But the Print Pattern feature is almost indispensable to me.

I have CPPL and use it as a plugin to LR Classic 13.0.1, printing to a Canon Pro-300.  I use it with Canon's own ink and papers and also with 3rd party papers and custom and generic ICC profiles. I sometimes have to ask the 3rd party paper manufacturer what media I should specify.  I make sure that the specification in the printer window matches that I am specifying in CPPL, and that it is registered in the printer window.  I particularly like it for B&W using the CPPL B&W mode selected. I was given to understand that using third party profiles automatically turns off colour management, so I do not do that.  I am very happy with my prints.  I did have a problem recently in that CPPL would not load properly, but reinstalling the app from Canon's website solved the issue.  I'm using an M1 iMac.

I hope that it continues OK and I am am not tempting fate by writing this!!

I just moved to the 4100, my beloved ipf 8400 died.
If you are on a pc, I would strongly recommend trying qimage.   It just makes this all easy- much easier than lightroom or the canon print software.   
Through qimage the transition was seamless.
Give it a look, at least it works for me.

Qimage is also available for the Mac. It is called Qimage One. It has less functionality than Qimage Ultimate (that is only Windows based), but we then are talking about being able to edit an image. Which most people do in a RAW converter and/or pixel editor like Affinity Photo or Photoshop anyway.
