While much of the printing and papers board covers inkjet fine art prints, I would like to know others experience with chromogenic prints from commercial labs. I'm particularly interested in some of the so called high definition prints such as those from Whitewall or BayPhoto. I would like to create some large prints up to 30" x 40" mounted to Gatorboard or Dibond, but maintain a reasonable cost. Archival is not a concern (I use Photo Rag for that), but would like something to last 15-20 years. Do the blacks and whites retain any detail, or do the extremes just go pure black or white without rolling off gradually? Is it best that I upscale using Gigapixel AI or let the print lab handle the upscaling? Anyone had any of these HD prints made, thoughts and recommendations appreciated.
