Cutting sheets from 24" roll paper using wide format printer cutter

Just wondering is there any way to cut just plain unprinted sheets from loaded roll using the printer's cutter in my case iPF6100.
Have loaded roll of 24" paper and would need sheets of 24" by 17" for other project so was thinking the printer could do me cuttings.
But no luck yet, if I choose blank print to be printed and automaticaly cut in the end printer wont even start printing as there as nothing to be printed I presume??

Printers have a paper advance in the menu.  You could measure how much your printer advances then do this as many times as necessary then do a manual cut.  It won't necessarily give you an accurate 17" length though, I'd suggest getting a 24" cutter.

Then add some horizontal lines at the beginning and end of the blank image. You could use a faint yellow color for them and it may not show at all in the sheet print later on. If the application + driver acts correctly the blank print area will be fed fast through the printer. First let the printer cut the front edge of the roll after the roll is loaded, the first sheet will get the same dimensions as the rest that way.

It'll work just fine - but be careful of curl - unless you deroll it, you may not be able to feed some materials through a sheet feed. Others will be fine.

RC papers generally have little curl.

Barytas, Platines, etc. can have quite a bit, especially toward the end of a roll - some are worse than others.

Light matte papers don't have much.

Heavy matte papers (including all of the wonderful watercolor art papers) can have a ton.

Washi papers are very light, and have no curl to speak of.

I find myself curious as to why you would want to do this thing? Is this a cost saving measure compared with sheet media?
As Dan has mentioned, the resulting sheets will tend to suffer from curl, and can be something of a pain to print on afterwards.

The Pro-1000 can now print on pano paper up to 47+ inches o the long dimension but try finding any cut sheets 17 x longer than 22. I wonder what it would do if you took a 44 inch role and cut off a 17" length and then fed it into a pro-1000 in the not-curl direction? (not sure if that made sense)

It's easy to cut long sheets from 17 inch roll paper with a Rotatrim.  I have done this frequently for my old Epson 3880 and now my Pro-1000.
