printing borders with Photoshop vs 2019CC?

I usually like to print a 2 point black border on my prints.  I do this by setting the "border" selection in the Photoshop print dialog box to "2 points".

I just upgraded to the newest version of Photoshop from my old 2017 version.  I set the print dialog box to print the 2 point border and ... nothing.  No border around the prints.  I am working with Windows 10 and Nvidia Titan X graphics card, Epson 3800.

I reverted to the older Photoshop, and that still works.

Has anyone else seen this "bug" and am I missing some obvious solution?  I tried rebooting the computer and re-launching Photoshop, but there's been no change.  The prints come out without the black border.

This bug appeared over a year ago, along with some related print dialog display failures.  Adobe promised a fix with version 20. Not sure what version is current, but on my system, borders are still broken. I use the crop tool to expand the canvas with the BG colour set to black.

Not ideal, but it’s an effective workaround until Adobe decides that this apparently simple problem deserves attention.

Until it gets fixed you could accomplish this with stroke. If you want it on a separate layer, just create a new layer, select all [cmd-A], edit>stroke. Select the black color and # of pixels. Several years ago I created an action and assigned a shortcut to do it quickly.

Thanks for the good "work around" suggestions about creating my own borders.  But, I prefer not to bake the borders into my "master" files (even if on a separate layer), as the border requires enlarging the canvas.

I guess I'll stick with Photoshop 2017 until this issue is resolved.

It is sad that Adobe hasn't fixed this yet as the subscription model promised timely updates and bug fixes for our monthly payments.

Stroke can be added inside, on or outside the existing borders, so you don't necessarily have to expand the canvas. But I understand you may still not want to do that.

I have resisted upgrading from my 2014CC so far precisely for such unknown surprises.  I take it you upgraded by installing a stand-alone 2019 version or or was it on top of the old version.   If latter, was it easy to "revert" back with everything intact?  Thinking about taking the plunge now.

I updated without removing the older version.  Now I have both versions on my computer.  To avoid using the new version, I need to open the old version before opening an image file.
