I have used most of the appears suggested here. Since you are looking for a smooth matte paper (I used William Turner for a number of years -- VERY textured, though good DMax), you might look at the Moab Entrada (available as both Bright White and Natural) and Museo MAX or Portfolio Rag Smooth. All three produce beautiful B&W, though good for a slightly muted color as well.
All are available from B&H. It's hard to make a recommendation when you haven't really said what you generally want to print (B&W or Color) and how large.
