Epson Print Academy videos with Mac Holbert

R Mac Holbert (I know what the R stands for) has done an excellent series of videos about fine art digital printing and Epson has posted them on YouTube (for free).

Mac, if you don't know him basically helped invent fine art digital printing when he and his partner Graham Nash used a hacksaw to allow putting fine art paper in their Iris printer. You can read a fun interview by JP Caponigro R Mac Holbert

BTW, Mac is a partner in PixelGenius, LLC. and was the product manager of PhotoKit Sharpener after Bruce Fraser passed away...

There aren't too many people who know as much about printing as I do...and Mac knows a bit more than I do–he's certainly made a ton more prints than I have :~)

Thanks Jeff. I've attended a couple of Epson Print Academy live sessions when they were being offered in various cities "way back when" and they were excellent. I would love to see Epson coming up with a new traveling live show, but in the meanwhile these videos offer timeless advice that will be of value to all who take the printing of their photographs seriously.

Thanks for the links Jeff. I also attended a couple of sessions in different cities and found the information and interaction invaluable. My printing was taken to the next level and I was able to meet with the best in the industry. If the EPA were resurrected I would attend again.

I wonder if that statistic is fictitious -
'more views' = > 'perception of better material'=>faster viral spread through the net.

so maybe google has an algorithm that inflates the number based on how much money the you tube author gives them (in one way or another)

Somehow I missed this post when Jeff made it in December, but I'm glad he did because this is a valuable series of videos.

By the way, is Jeff still associated with LuLa after the change-over? I really hope so.

Mac knows his stuff but the way the videos are dribbled out over time will discourage many.  Some are also quite short leaving some to think...is that all?” 

These videos will likely have more appeal when the series is complete.
