Best old Canon Film Camera to get?

I'll be doing some personal fine art projects (no client/ no stress) with mostly Canon 35mm digital. Would be nice to aslo shoot a tiny bit of 35mm film. Any camera recommendations?

I've heard: EOS, 1n, 1v, 3, even elan (though the elan may be too cheapy).
Not sure I need all that is the 1v, not shooting fast or that much — so thinking perhaps the 1n best bang for buck.
Just need full frame, auto focus....and accepts EF lenses.
Open to suggestions.

When I was shooting film, the 3 was the sweet spot. Quite bullet proof, fine ergos, feels like a 5 family digital... I just sold my last two last year.

The EOS 1v was the last and best of the Canon pro film bodies but since it's film, they will all give you identical results if shot with the same lenses and same exposure on the same film.  The difference will be in AF systems, FPS, metering systems, viewfinder coverage/size/brightness/info, build quality, etc...

Yes, The EOS-1 series is Canon's top level Pro range, followed by EOS-3, followed by EOS-5. Double digit numbers are 1 class level lower, prosumer, three/four digit numbers are consumer models. EOS models accept EF lenses.

I happen to have an EOS-3 in original box and am willing to part with it.
It comes without a battery, I forgot which model. PM me if you''re interested.

And forget about the Elan?

Another topic, if you were doing a fine art series, with Canon Digital, Mark 2 or eventually the Mark 5 or next Mirrorless etc; would you also shoot a roll of 35mm film just to have it.. something tangible.. or would you not bother? Just only have your work in pixels forever.....

PS... oh, viewfinder coverage? With some I'm not seeing the full frame?
