Hasselblad H6d to H6X adaptor?

Is there such a thing that exists? I would like the opportunity to use my H6 with a Phase back on some jobs but I understand that in order to do so I need the H6X body.

I would be interested to learn the reasons why they back doesn't work on the H6D too - thank you!

Any adapter would screw with where the focal plane sits. I think you'd need to purchase a H6X body, as it'll work fine with your H6D back and take the Phase backs as well.

The latest IQ4 Phase One backs may be are not working with Hasselblad.

You may even be able to use your backs on an H5x or H4x body, but I would call or email Hasselblad New Jersey to confirm.

There isn't an H mount IQ4 - you're limited to IQ1-3 & the Credo's (plus earlier backs).

At one time you could order your H5D camera with the H5X body, but that doesn't look to have continued over to the H6D lineup. 

I was a bit off, Hasselblad doesn't recommend using any body for the -100c back other than the H6D.

I guess I don't really understand why there is an X and a D version at all if both offer the exactly the same except the X allows access for 3rd party backs?! Why not have one body which offers everything?

I am aware P1 are stopping their backs being used on other systems moving forward which is also a pain...! My preferred set up is a full frame P1 back + C1 with the blad body and lenses.  The H6D has been a cost effective option but super limited workflow with Phocus. It has been great taking one system on shoots though with film backs.

It's not that bad, you're an open H body away from what you want.  The newer H5X/H6X bodies are fine with the 24/28mm lenses, but if you're shooting anything longer you can use the earlier H1/2/4X options.

There's a few H+P users here - douglevy comes to mind - and it's limited with the 100mp sensor, though you can do a normal or Trichromatic back.

It is worth the effort to learn a lot more about Phocus. The raw processing is exceptional. The manual just scratches the surface and the Karl Taylor videos are quite old.
If you must use C1 then just export a TIF or JPG out of Phocus.
I have had many H series cameras but would only get an H6D if I needed 100MP or more. If 50MP is plenty then these days for a lot less money the X1D leaves it for dead. Smaller, lighter and cheaper.

I have an H1 & H5X with 80/120/50-110 and a IQ3100. I love the back, it's the best of the 4 I've ever owned (P22+, Credo 60/80 were the others) and 100mp is plenty for all applications. For anything I need faster af for I shoot D850. Really most jobs I go to with the H kit and D850+24-70. At some point I'd like a backup back (maybe a Credo 50), but that's not happening in covid times.

I haven't shot H6X, but don't think there's much difference between the 5X and 6X (and 4X for that matter. I think the 5+6 platforms may be a bit more stable though). I've been in this system 18m, and yeah, it's frustrating I'll never be able to upgrade the back, but also, don't see much need to.

Hi Bob thank you for the reply - In my industry everyone uses C1 so its kinda the standard. You are right Phocus is a great RAW convertor but is dwarfed by the scope of what C1 can do....if you are shooting a lookbook, or something similar, Phocus just cannot keep up. It fine for just tracking though but assistants always groan when it comes out. The X is great also but not in the studio and not when you have all the HC lenses and bits

Thanks Doug - that's the set up I am after! my fav colour and look combo is a full frame case CMOS back on a blad system - the 100 2.2 is right up my street. You are right I havent noticed any difference between the 6 and 5 bodies. I am having difficulty locating an HXX body on the used market I suppose they are not that common! I am considering now just switching to full Phase system to keep things simple....It might more sense to sell the H6D System as a package. I really dig the Phase workflow and the IQ3 FF backs have now become affordable. Kinda emotionally invested in the blad after so long.

If you mean the "HCD" lenses, these are supported on the H4X and even H1 bodies, when they have the latest version of the firmware.
