I do not usual cite DPReview, but I like two recent reports there by Barney Britton on two cameras with retro aspirations, the Fujifilm X100s and Nikon Df.

TL;DR: he thinks that the X100s does the retro thing better, while to my mind being fairly balanced in his comments on the Df.
