Maxmax conversion for Canon 5D2?

Since I print large-scale landscapes, am wondering if removing the AA filter visibly improves resolution on the Canon 5D2?

Non AA filtered gear have with no doubt a better IQ in terms of precision, although some do not like the look and prefer the AA filterered gears.
That's a matter of taste.

But doing this with an unprepared camera may be disapointed and truly an hassle.

IMO, better to get a second-hand camera that has already no AA filter, like the very very cheap Leica S2  

Seriously, a second hand 22mp back, or an M9, or even a Foveon Sigma (for landscape they are really good)

That is an opinion not shared by many, not a fact, and certainly far from "no doubt."

Hi,

Without doubt, removing the AA-filter will improve the impression of sharpness. The price you will pay for this is artifacts, that is artificial info in the image.

The real question is how much difference you would see with optimal sharpening. An AA-filtered image demands significantly more sharpening than an unfiltered image. Sharpening will also enhance noise.

I'd suggest that you don't need to look into this if you don't use your camera on tripod with mirror lock up and cable release or self timer. Normally you would waste a lot of resolution by not using the camera in an optimal way.
