Is there anyway to move LR's adjustment panels on the right to the left, independently from others?

LR 2.1 does not create a psd file when you open it in PS to edit.  It only creates a psd or tiff if you SAVE from PS.  Otherwise, that's one of the pros in LR--if you get into PS and decide that for some reason the edited file doesn't suit--you simply close it--and no additional file in LR.

To my knowledge, you cannot switch the panels.  You can make them 'disappear' when working on your file--both of them.  In the Develop module the left contains the presets, history,  navigator--you need that panel at time but not always so I usually have it diminish while I'm using the right panel.

what I had in mind is that when I'm in develop mode I don't need the nav panel or other left hand panels open. Instead of scrolling down to access all adjustment panels on the right, it might be nice to have the option to move a couple to the left side for easier access.

For instance, the vignette panel could be moved from the right to the left for developing.

Because you must have the preferences set to create a PSD file when you choose 'Edit in CS3'. Lightroom is creating a PSD file and bumping you to CS3 for work on that image.

Check your preferences [External Editing] - or use the drop down in 'Edit in CS3' And..

OoooooHHHHHHH if you only new hoooooooooow many times I've been to that dialog box and looked at it long enough to grow a bread. There isn't anything in there that says anything about NOT creating a PSD file.
