Hp Z3100 head strike problem with glossy 44" roll. GARRR!!!

Ok...I might as well just ask Kyle D Jackson for help, as he is quite wise and helpful!
So I put the old MK-R head in, as the red is mostly ok...just the MK no good.
But I have a glossy print (as I ran out of luster) . With this thinner glossy paper the head is striking the edge on the left side.Weird....as the paper is thinner than the Lustre paper I usually use (but ran out) where I don;t get this problem
Does Kyle (ths Kyle I owe you!) or anyone know an adjustment that can be made to avoid? It is creating some banding like lines in the print.

Lol I only use the printers a little bit, I just post the info here so I can find it again... 

I've seen paper curl cause head strikes at the edge like that. Paper at the start of a roll (if using immediately), or near the end of a roll. Reverse curling it and refeeding it sometimes helps.

Also the paper preset you choose when loading a roll sets the carriage height based on paper thickness. Some presets let you adjust the carriage height in HP Utility / Colour Centre. Some do not, the option is greyed out. But you can reload the paper using a different preset instead that is intended for thicker paper.

Similar for the starwheel thingies.

Finally you can check the printheads and carriage for ink buildup.

I do that too sometimes if a roll has been sitting a long time. I found papers sometimes develop a ripple at the leading edge cut after a long while (due to room temp/humidity issues I assume). Rare but I saw it a couple times after I moved into a new place and was still learning the HVAC system.
