Old posts - all lost??

I try to visit links to forum posts on LL which I saved many years ago. Either, something called Cloudflare.com in Copenhagen says "Web server is returning an unknown error; Error code 520".
Or the link is 404, and I am invited to go to the Home page, which works.
I have very many such links, which together are something like my personal textbook on digital photography. Are they all lost??

I seem to recall some information a few years ago advising us all that an early period of LuLa history had been irretrievably lost for some technical reason or the other.

Not everything ist lost. If I enter my name as the search subject and search in the relevant sub-fora, I retrieve 100 posts. -
The fact that it is exactly 100 makes me wonder: Is this a limit set by the search software?

URLs have likely changed over the years as the forum server was updated. Post an example of a link you are trying to access.

That search is intended to find something specific, so if you don't see it in the first 100 hits then try different search terms.

But if all you want to see is all of your own posts, don't do it that way. Click Profile in the top forum menu, then Show Posts. It'll show everything.

To my knowledge everything is still there. I routinely reference posts from the mid 2000s. But I'm not using bookmarked links, I search for the topics.

I don't think any posts have been lost. I can see all of my own, going back to early 2005, and I can see posts you have made from a long time ago (2008, I think it was). I'm not sure that this, or indeed any, forum software would guarantee that something such as restoration from backup or other database reorganisation would leave internal references (used to construct the URLs) unchanged.

Amongst the links I saved is also this one:

When I try to reach it, I am stopped by Cloudflare which says there is an unknown error with the server (LuLa).

But when I start an Advanced Search for "Monitor profiling for soft proof" in the Color Management Sub-forum and and with my name, I come to this post:

From there, I can go "upstream", and there is the rest of the thread.
Cloudflare claims to protect the server (Lula). It might look like it over-protects it in a way that Lula might not really want, but is not aware of?

PS I wrote this before I read your post, Jeremy. So I understand you the way that we can exspect to retrieve old posts if we search for them in verbose mode rather than by a canned URL.
