B and W photographer

Don't visit this forum much so not sure if this photographer has been mentioned before.

Happened to watch a YT video of an interview of a photographer who renders much of her work in black and white. She has a few color images but her b and w are exceptional and she has truly mastered the art of processing some scenes which are limited in dynamic range. Many of the current, and past, b and w photographers get real aggressive in pushing the blacks, but I really like her treatment.

Her website is HuiboHoudotcom. Her Favourites category hold, in my opinion, her best work. When you click on one of the image thumbnails, it presents a moderately sized image but if you further click the magnifying glass, you can see it much larger.

Her treatment isn’t less aggressive than many others. And she has plenty of aggressive black toned images. She is not a better photographer than many but she has a great sense of composition but highly processes her images. Yes so did Ansel Adams and Sebastio Selgado and that’s ok. I find her stuff appealing for a few minutes but then tire of it like an overly fruity NE IPA. That’s ok I still take stuff from it. She admitted it’s the interpretation that makes one a different type of artist (paraphrased). My style trends more towards Michael Kenna I guess. Thanks for sharing.
