Older Photoshop Version Locking Up

I do have Photoshop 2024 because I wanted to take advantage of some of the newer tools for restoring old images. But I hung onto Photoshop CS5 and CS6  ( both 32 Bit & 64 Bit Versions) mostly because of old Plug Ins, Actions, and Filters. Also When all is said and done I usually leave PS 2024 and finish the images off in CS 6 64 Bit because I am more familiar with it. I must have screwed something up because now CS6 is locking up my PC.  CTR+ALT+DEL used to take me to Task Manager, and I would stop Photoshop. Now this does not stop anything and the only way I can get out is to reboot. I am attaching a Screen Shot: this is what I see when CS6 locks up. Sorry to say it may be true about teaching old dogs new tricks.  (I am 88, bear with me).

Hi Dave....Don't you think that using the more current PS to do everything would make life easier?  You can always add your current actions to the newer PS and update your plugins & filters to the newer PS.

You are probably right, but certain things don't work on the newer PS. Example: Digital ROC only works on PS 32 Bit.

Looks like the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables may be removed/broken, PS CS6 is around 2012 so probably needs the 2012 redistributables to be reinstalled (you can find which ones from the error I think).

If you are running software this old using something like VirtualBox to have a dedicated emulated environment for Windows 7 (or 10) + the necessary software/requirements is safer vs running natively now and then just share the files over an internal local network/share to work on them. VirtualBox is free so if you have the licenses you can set up a new Windows environment dedicated for PS CS6, VMware Workstation would be more polished/elegant for personal use however Broadcom (who owns VMware) may revoke that right at any time (they've been pretty anti-business lately).
