Photoshop 2024 Liquify no longer working

Suddenly, my Photoshop 2024 (v. 25.12) will no longer launch Liquify. (In searches, this has been a periodic issue. I've tried the various fixes, but none seem to work.) The exact same image edited in Photoshop 2023 (v. 24.7.1) launches Liquify and works without a hitch. (Because PS has become buggier since launching the subscription-only model, I always keep one or two back versions for exactly this reason.)

I am using Liquify on a PSD file, but the same occurs regardless of file format or program used to create that file from RAW. The error in the latest version of Photoshop is "Could not complete the Liquify command because of disk error." This is obviously BS because the earlier version of PS has no issues whatsoever completing the command. I also discovered that some of my plugins no longer functions but others do.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution that works? I work on a PC Desktop, Windows 11, 64GB of memory, lots of scratch disk space and SSD space, Radeon graphics card with 12GB RAM. Thanks.

Go to Preferences/Technology Preview and check "Disable Native Canvas", better? You may have a GPU issue too. In Prefs>Technology Preview and check "Older GPU Mode"

Thanks for the suggestions. My GPU is only 2 years old, so that's not the issue. I don't have anything in Technology Preview that says "Disable Native Canvas".

Let's start with a reset of preferences to see if this fixes the issue.
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. You can also reset preferences on quit if Photoshop is running by going into General Preferences>General>Reset on Quit.

Sorry for the delay. Much to do and used my work-around of bouncing between versions to get work done.

I reset my preferences. No change.  I also disabled my GPU. That did work (with the warning that performance would be better with the GPU).  I then re-enabled the GPU, but also noticed under advanced option that "30 bit display" had been disabled at some point and re-checked it. (When I reset the preferences it was disabled?) I quit PS and checked to see whether there was an update for my Radeon GPU. There was, so I downloaded and installed it. I restarted PS again, and EUREKA! It worked. So, some combination of things seemed to get liquify to work without the disk error message. So, for now, all sorted out. Thanks for the help.

No longer working. Back to the non-functional Liquify.
