The first one was from some recent travel. You might recognize it.
I used a ND filter to slow my shutter speed and get something slightly different than (almost) everyone else. I had to brace on a rail since I was without a tripod.
The second one was closer to home and you probably won't recognize it. I was also traveling light without a tripod here as this is several miles and over a thousand vertical feet above where we parked. We hiked by it early in the day and there was some dappled direct sun on it making any decent photos unlikely. But when we passed by on the way back down it was in full shade and I had to spend a little time working the scene. I did not have a ND filter either but the shadows were deep enough to get a slow shutter just by stopping down. I'll probably revisit this one with a tripod and bigger camera at some point.
