Epson p900 won't load Lyve canvas...

My p900 has worked almost flawlessly until now.  I printed canvas for the first time about a month ago.  I had trouble loading the canvas then, but after a few attempts, the roll paper adapter finally caught the leading edge of my 17' roll of Lyve and it worked fine.  Final results looked great.  So today was to be my second time printing canvas, and I simply cannot get the printer to load the canvas.  I tried over a dozen times and kept getting the same "paper feed error; remove and reload, etc.).  I tried many variations:

1) Stopped inserting the canvas immediately after hearing the "load" chime.
2) Continued to insert the canvas another inch or so after hearing the chime.
3) Re-cut the leading canvas edge for perfect alignment.
4) Slightly bent back the canvas leading edge.
4) I even tried attaching (with tape) a narrow sheet of regular photo paper to the canvas leading edge.

Nothing has worked and I'm very frustrated!  I'd sure greatly appreciate it if anyone can offer any advice or their experience with this issue on the p900.

Have you tried taping a leaderboard heavier type paper to the leading edge. Always worked on my 3800 and 3880.

Thought I'd provide an update.  After trying just about every conceivable technique, I still can't get the roll paper adapter on the Epson p900 to load Lyve canvas.  I've tried using a 6 inch wide paper lead attachment, which didn't work.  I may try an even wider attachment in the future, as per Dan Berg's suggestion.

Fortunately I have had success cutting the roll down into sheets, then attaching a paper lead, and loading through the standard back print loader.  Not an efficient technique, but at least it works.  Judging by the lack of replies to my initial post, I guess there's not too many folks using the p900 roll paper attachment for canvas. 

I'm guessing that since I'm using a non-Epson canvas, I'm probably stuck with the adapter, which may prove to be a waste of money for canvas printing; live and learn.

I used canvas on the roll feed of my P800. It was never easy to load (no paper was either) but you just had to keep trying.
From memory reverse winding the end helped but Epson did not put a lot of effort into perfecting roll loading.

Update - I just remembered that I used to slide a piece of stiff paper in the front so that the roll front edge did not drop down as it loaded.

Try a 6" leader the full 17" width then taped to your canvas. If your printer will take a "roll" paper it should take this.
