I've been offered a Kodak DCS Pro 645M back at a very good price. Since the back has a removable IR filter I thought I could use it for IR photography.
Does anyone have any information about converting the removable IR blocking filter to an IR pass filter?
Thanks

Jamie,
If the IR filter is a flat piece of glass in front of the sensor (mounted in a frame?), a nice was to go about this is to order filter glass from [a href=\"http://www.howardglass.com/]http://www.howardglass.com/[/url]. Howard Glass did this for me to support a bunch of Sigma users who were doing IR---the glass in a variety of IR pass wavelengths (from 640 nm to 1000 nm) were cut to size and lapped (thinned) to 0.85 mm for a very reasonable price (about $15/piece). This allowed us to replace our IR "block" glass (the "dust protector") with the IR pass filter, and use any lens for IR photography.
Of course, the 1000 nm filter is pretty tough to visualize through the viewfinder...
