Osuna and Garcia: Do Sensors "Outresolve" Lenses?

One of my all time favorite articles on LuLa was the one that is the subject of this post. I recently wanted to review this article and a search turned up an article with the same name, but written by Micheal Reichman (article url), but nothing by the original authors.

While searching my hard drive today I came across copy of the original article that I had saved in Word format. The first page is shown below. On comparing my copy with the Reichman article, I find they are nearly identical. However, Figure 1 in the Reichman article does not show what the caption indicates (image 2 below). The correct Figure 1 is shown as image 3 below.

What is going on here?

I'd think this is the result of bulk conversion of the site from old format to the new one; many articles lost proper timestamps, for instance. And problems do not end with that. I wish a more sophisticated script/process was used for conversion...

Kevin should probably look into this one and fix it.

Looks like a mistake, as the authors are listed at the bottom of the article.

At the end of the article is this statement:

"Rubén Osuna is a University Professor at the UNED, Madrid. Efraín García is a professional fashion and advertising photographer."

That might imply that these gentlemen contributed to the article but does not identify them as authors.

I'm sure that this is some type of mixup with migration of the articles to the new server, but the error should be corrected and Figure 1 should display what the caption states.

When you find pages like this please PM me or email me.  Our web guys will then fix the issue.  Because of the number of different HTML editors used during the history of this site sometimes the original author doesn't show.  In addition many times images have the same image name and as a result the database doesn't know which one to insert and thus we get the wrong images.  Easy to fix if we know about it.  So please just send and email or PM and our team will fix it.  There are thousands of articles many very old and when we find the issues we fix them.

Not how I would understand it, but no matter - as Kevin says, it will be fixed.
