24-35mm F2 DG HSM | Art

Indeed. My first thought was "can this be called a zoom?", but thinking about it it pretty much covers the most used street focal lengths.

Let's just hope they will have done a better job bokehwise.

As has been pointed out elsewhere, 24-35 provides 24mm/f2, 28mm/f2, 35mm/f2.

So it is a 24-28-35 f/2.0. Kind of like a Leica Tri-Elmar.

As has been pointed out elsewhere, 24-35 provides 24mm/f2, 28mm/f2, 35mm/f2.

So it is a 24-28-35 f/2.0. Kind of like a Leica Tri-Elmar.

The problem is that, unlike the Tri-Elmar, it is huge (82mm filter, I hear).  I'd love a (presumably) much smaller constant f4 in that range.

Very happy with all the design choices Sigma made on this lens and can hardly wait to stick one in front of my D810. Exactly what I want to carry in my bag.

Plenty of f4 options that cover that range. Nothing else that is f2 however.

Must be good but 900 grams... a lot
the price will be about 900$ i would think...like all the other sigma arts...
(I could be followed with a 35-85 f2)

More accurately it is a 24-25-26-27-28-29-30-31-32-33-34-35 f/2.0 lens. Sure sometimes you can move slightly forward or slightly backward for the best framing or crop afterwards, but sometimes you can't.

I suspect this lens will be in relatively higher demand for video shooters  thanfor  stills only shooters.

If the lens gives similar sharpness to the Sigma 35mm Art, and lens correction profiles are made available for Sony/Canon/Nikon bodies, it'll be an interesting lens for sure. Pretty much replaces a number of primes.
