Chuck's a wonderful photographer. For one thing, he understands the American west. He looks and he sees. He understands that the effectiveness of a photograph comes from something beyond the scene itself.

For me, much of his strength comes into play when he uses the remnants of human occupation, without which...

My own photography is miles removed in all directions, but for a common link: the human touch is essential to make that connection I need in pictures. At least one reason I fail completely with Mama Nature.

His landscapes have human emotion in spades.
