LR Library - All Photos count issue

I imported slide scans from a parent folder that should have totaled 8650 images. All Photos showed 8526, so 124 missing.
I keep notes for each carousel, starting and ending numbers. Looking through the notes I found no numbering issues. Looking through the per carousel folders found no numbering errors.
I imported 9 new ones but the count only went up by 4. Previous Import showed the 9 new ones.
I have Do Not Import Duplicates checked. Every file has a unique number.

Any ideas about this discrepancy?

After more inspection it appears the discrepancy is from files I tossed out. Ya LR can count better than me. Sorry if I alarmed anyone.
