Title: Lichen macros
Post by: Bob_B on April 19, 2015, 07:21:08 pm
It's about time I think about replacing my lawn furniture as it is starting to be quite a petri dish for lichens. Here's a couple of species growing on the aged ipe wood. (The large greenish one is easily seen, but note the smaller red dots. They're lichens too.) The second photo is a close up of the green lichen's surface.
C&C welcomed.

The first image is very good. The second one seems to suffer from uneven sharpness across the frame (sharper in the centre than at the edges).

Lichens are interesting subjects to shoot.

On these, perhaps the angle is "too directly over" for both.

Thanks for your comments. Rajan, the second image is just a crop of the first, but maybe that contributed to the softness at the edges. (I can't say I see this when viewed in LR.)

John, I tried a couple of different angles but they didn't improve the photo imho.
